What AskQuran Does — and Doesn't Do
What we do
- Send your search queries to our server to answer them
- Log queries, timestamps, and country-level location (from your IP) for usage analytics
- Store which Quran translation you searched with
- Use Google Analytics on the website for page-view statistics (not in the mobile app)
- Collect anonymous in-app analytics events on the mobile app via xNotify, tied to a randomly generated device ID — no personal information attached
- Register an anonymous FCM push token on Android to deliver push notifications
- Transmit all data over HTTPS/TLS encryption
What we don't do
- No user accounts, no registration, no login
- No name, email address, or phone number collected — ever
- No advertising ID or commercial tracking identifier collected
- No ads — ever
- No selling or sharing of your data with third parties for commercial purposes
- No in-app purchases or payment data
- No precise location tracking (country-level only, derived from IP on our server)

The answers below are provided to assist the AskQuran developer when completing the Google Play Console Data Safety section. They reflect the actual behaviour of the app.
Does this app collect or share any of the required user data types?
Yes — data is collected. The app sends search queries to our backend server and, on the mobile app, collects anonymous analytics events and an FCM push token for notification delivery.
Is all of the user data collected by this app encrypted in transit?
Yes. All communication uses HTTPS/TLS. Push notifications are delivered over Firebase Cloud Messaging's encrypted transport.
Do you provide a way for users to request that their data is deleted?
No formal deletion mechanism exists — AskQuran has no accounts, so there is no account to delete. Users may contact us at [email protected] with questions about their data.

Collected on the mobile app. A randomly generated anonymous distinct_id is stored on the device and used by xNotify to associate analytics events. An anonymous FCM subscriber ID and push token are registered on Android for notification delivery. No advertising ID, phone number, or personal identifier is used or collected.

Approximate location only — a country code is derived server-side from the IP address using an offline GeoIP database. The device's GPS or network location is never requested or accessed.
Does this app share user data with third parties?
No. xNotify and Firebase Cloud Messaging are service providers that process data on AskQuran's behalf — they are not independent third parties receiving data for their own use. Data is never sold or shared for commercial purposes. Google Analytics is used on the website only, not in the mobile app.
Is this app designed primarily for children under 13?
No — it is suitable for all ages but not designed exclusively for children.
